Job Overview

The Human Resources Generalist is a fully remote role and works directly with the COO of the company to develop, support, and execute on all talent and human resourcing needs to support DemandLab’s business and operations. The HR Generalist role entails a wide range of human resources duties, including but not limited to talent acquisition, contractor management, employer branding, and performance measurement.

The HR Generalist is responsible for all aspects of managing the organization’s human resources requirements, including but not limited to: recruiting, training, KPI performance process, professional development goals. The role entails assisting the management team in creating a company environment where the employees succeed in their duties and professional growth. The HR Generalist assists and coordinates the entire employee lifecycle from acquisition and onboarding through to offboarding.

A key responsibility of the HR Generalist is to design, implement, support, and optimize the talent management process. The HR Generalist is the administrative owner of the talent management system (Workable) to manage the applicant flow for open positions and schedule candidate and team member appointments.

The HR Generalist works with each manager to assist team members in creating, scheduling, recording, and reporting on their KPI goals and professional development plans in line with the annual corporate objectives and actively works to ensure the delivery team’s performance goals are achieved on a quarterly and annual basis.

This individual is also responsible for creating internal HR processes and looks to continually improve processes to create greater efficiencies in HR process delivery.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Talent Management
Workforce Planning and Employment
  • Assist in developing and implementing the organization’s recruiting strategy
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Managing the applicant tracking process including:
    • Scheduling and coordinating hiring steps
    • Job posting and advertising
    • Administering pre-employment tests
    • Assisting with completing background investigations
    • Leads employee onboarding
  • Processing transfers, promotions, and terminations
HR Development
  • Assisting Managers in executing KPI planning, goal setting, and reporting
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of training programs
  • Implementing new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Reviewing, tracking, and documenting compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
    • This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Maintaining digital records for employees documents and benefits
  • Managing benefits relationships with vendors (health care, retirement plans, etc…)
  • Creating and maintaining accurate job descriptions
    • Analyzing job duties
    • Writing job descriptions
    • Performing job evaluations and job analyses
    • Conducting and analyzing compensation surveys
  • Leads and maintains the company’s employer branding strategy and efforts.
  • Makes recommendations for improvements and the respective implementation.
  • Handling employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintaining compliance with all employment laws and regulations in countries where DemandLab operates and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Success Measures
  • The HR Generalist is expected to meet or exceeds key performance metrics as outlined quarterly by their manager
  • Ensuring managers and employees receive responsive, knowledgeable, and effective HR solutions that help them advance their career progression
  • This role will be measured on the following metrics:
    • Completion of quarterly KPI reviews
    • Employee’s use and tracking of professional development time and resources, plan versus actuals
    • Completion of individual employee performance and compensation reviews on time
    • On-time recertification of external credentials for managers and employees where applicable

Education and Work Experience

  • Minimum associates degree in business, human resource management, or related field
  • 5+ years of human resource experience in a private company
  • 2+ years of experience implementing and managing talent management technology platforms. Must have direct knowledge and administrative experience in at least one of Workable, Paylocity (talent module), or similar platforms.
  • Proficient in Google Workplace, Microsoft Office business software
  • Knowledge of marketing and experience in a consultancy is a plus

Working Conditions and Environment

  • Work from home in a professional setting
  • Available for 10-20 hours per week during standard business hours Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm local time
