The Business Operations Specialist team member at DemandLab will be responsible for supporting the Director of Operations and Strategy in various operational, strategic, and administrative functions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth execution of projects, adherence to standard operating procedures, and the continuous improvement of internal processes. Your role is crucial in contribution go the overall growth and success of DemandLab.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Operational Support:
- Assist in analyzing and optimizing workflow processes across teams to maximize productivity.
- Help maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), company policies, and knowledge base.
- Manage the implementation and organization of training programs related to SOPS and policies.
- Function essentially as our IT department to optimize delivery technologies and processes for increased automation and efficiency.
- Maintain the collection and validation of company metrics and contribute to the company Scorecard and other reporting updates.
2. Project Management Support:
- Work alongside the Project Management team to facilitate project delivery and management
- Work with Project Management leads to assist in data-driven decision-making toward optimal staffing for projects.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of project management processes.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
3. Legal and Contract Management:
- Assist in reviewing Statements of Work, Proposals, and contract reviews.
- Participate in managing the legal terms and requirements of client contracts and agreements.
- Help manage vendor relationships, including onboarding and offboarding of contractors and partners.
- Maintain and organize contractual binding agreements.
4. IT and Security:
- Support the maintenance of IT infrastructure and adherence to security best practices.
- Assist with IT policies and auditing.
- Maintain our levels of standards in keeping with our SOC2 compliance and audits.
- Own IT hardware and software inventory management and the procurement of hardware for new hires and existing employees where required.
- Assist employees with operational IT requests (password management, employee on and offboarding, etc.)
- Responsible for our IT incident management system.
5. Revenue Operations:
- Help orchestrate and manage internal platforms, including marketing automation and Salesforce CRM systems.
- Ensure the availability and security of internal systems and tools.
6. Human Resources:
- Assist in managing HR requirements, including recruitment, policy development, and professional development.
- Contribute ideas to the development and maintenance of a leadership development program.
- Collaborate with HR on the ideation of professional development plans.

Education & Work Experience
- Associate's degree or certificate (two-year) in IT, business, marketing, engineering or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in operational management
- Familiarity with project management technology platforms (e.g. Accelo, Asana, Jira, Workfront)
- Budget management knowledge
- Administrative proficiency in software tools such as Salesforce, Google Suite, and Microsoft 365
- Understanding marketing concepts and experience in a consultancy or agency is a plus.
Working Conditions and Environment
- Standard business hours are Monday - Friday, 9 am - 6 pm local time.
- Living in Canada is required.
- Some travel may be required.
