Who are we? Get the behind-the-scenes scoop at DemandLab

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at an agency?

Several of our team members from Martech, Project Management, and Client Success shared how they spend their time and what motivates them to do what they do.

In this post, we’ll cover everything from how we start and end the day, tips for recharging throughout the workday, and interesting stories that make working with our clients so worthwhile.

Rasul Musayev, Marketing Automation Specialist

  • How do you start your day?
I start my day by grabbing a coffee and checking my mailbox. This routine provides a priceless opportunity to plan the rest of my day ahead.
  • How and when do you recharge for the latter half of your day?
During my lunchtime (usually at noon), I take a 15-minute walk outside, which energizes my body and helps me prepare for the second half of the day, which is usually busier since this is when our U.S. team starts their day. Having an afternoon coffee is a great part of the daily journey too.
  • How do you end your day?
My every day goal is to finish the main client work before 5 pm and leave the remaining one hour for an additional review of projects. The last part of the day is a great time to set clear expectations for the next working day.
  • What is the best part of working at DemandLab?
The spirit of the company reflects the enthusiasm of the team about lifetime learning and providing excellent service for the clients. The synergy of this environment is a great motivator for me to keep moving forward.
  • What is one experience that you’ve had that makes providing a great client experience worthwhile?
Every client strives for excellence; however, building trust by continuously providing a positive client experience is always possible. As I provide Martech solutions that have been receiving positive feedback, I admire how our communication gets more effective over time—which leaves room to expand the scope of our collaboration.

Briana Parnell, Project Coordinator

  • How do you start your day?
That’s an interesting question when working remotely. On my best days, I start by going to the gym and treating myself to a sweet smoothie. I’m not a morning person and with many of my meetings being as soon as I open my laptop, a gym and smoothie give me a much-needed energy boost.
  • How and when do you recharge for the latter half of your day?
Working remotely has many pros, but there are a few exceptions that get overlooked. For example, you’re always home! I recharge the latter half of the day by taking my dog on a long walk. Something as simple as the fresh air and sunlight fuels me.
  • How do you end your day?
I end my day by clearing through my emails, Teams, and other messages. Throughout the day we receive various notifications requesting our help or raising a concern to our attention—I always go through my requests before I log out. I see this as a way of saying goodbye for the day.
  • What is the best part of working at DemandLab?
The best part of working at DemandLab, hands down, is the co-workers. I have worked at several different companies, and this is the first company where I am not scared to be myself. It makes coming to work so much easier and happier knowing I don’t have to put on a mask for eight hours.
  • What is one experience that you’ve had that makes providing a great client experience worthwhile?
The excitement and gratitude a client shows when we finish a project is what makes providing a great client experience worthwhile.

Emma Wahdani, Client Success Strategist

  • How do you start your day?
I always start my day with a coffee and read a few different digital marketing newsletters to be in the know with the latest industry news and developments. Then I dive into what my day is looking like. This usually consists of reviewing my to-do list and prioritizing my tasks for the day. I use three categories to plan my day: must-do, should-do, & would-be-nice-to-do. I then check and respond to emails and prepare for any meetings or calls scheduled for the day. Then I start work on any ongoing projects or assignments.
  • How and when do you recharge for the latter half of your day?
I normally take my dog for a walk around noon; the fresh air gives me a break from my computer and allows me to come back to work with a fresh mind. I’ll also make another cup of either coffee or tea. I also use this time to reevaluate my to-do list, any progress I made, or if anything needs to be adjusted.
  • How do you end your day?
I have a weekly scheduled time block for my daily wrap-up and time entries. I spend this time reviewing everything that was done in my day, I also will create a list of any items that need to be worked on the next day. I also check emails at the end of the day to ensure nothing is left unanswered. I normally end my day by reviewing my time entries.
  • What is the best part of working at DemandLab?
There are so many great parts of working at DemandLab. The best part for me is definitely the diversity within our team and the level of collaboration with various niches & expertise; I am always working with people who bring different perspectives and skill sets to the table, leading to more creative and impactful solutions.
  • What is one experience that you’ve had that makes providing a great client experience worthwhile?
At a previous job, a client was so happy with the entire client experience and hands-on approach, we would get new contracts from different businesses that all came from his network. The positive experience made the client an advocate for the firm, and he continued to refer business for years to come. The impact on the client’s business and the lasting impression it leaves certainly make it worthwhile.
